Birds and Trees

This is a happy picture, a reminder of pleasant countryside walks on summer afternoons. I am fortunate enough to walk through the local park to get to and from work each day, which has given me a deeper appreciation of trees and dirt paths through grassy places. On the day Ben and I got engaged, he took me on a lovely walk up the Malvern hills, and although most of the day was cloudy and overcast, as we neared the top of the hill the sun came out and it was magnificent. I love countryside walks with trees, hills and fields, and wildflowers (really wild, not wildflowers that people have planted) growing everywhere. Sunshine and scenery with birds flying overhead and trees all around is unmatchable food for the soul – we are truly blessed to live in a country with so much green.

Oil on 30x40cm (approx. 12″x16″) stretched canvas (sides painted), ready to hang.
